Overview
V-Ray provides a number of standalone geometry tools and utilities to assist the user. For a full list of tools that come packaged with V-Ray, see the Additional V-Ray Tools page.
Mesh Tools
V-Ray comes with the following standalone mesh tools:

Convert Poly to V-Ray Proxy - This command line utility allows the conversion of .ply, .obj, .geo, .bgeo, .hclassic, .bhclassic, .bin and .abc files to .vrmesh files for rendering by V-Ray through a Proxy Objects | VRayProxy.

V-Ray Mesh Viewer - A simple tool that allows the user to preview both static and animated V-Ray mesh and alembic files.
Scene Tools
V-Ray comes with the following standalone scene tools:

V-Ray Scene Exporter - Allows the exporting from 3ds max of .vrscene files, which are an ASCII file format that contains information about the geometry, lights, and shaders in the scene and can be rendered with the V-Ray Standalone; and additionally the file can also be used to transfer shaders from 3ds Max to Maya.

V-Ray Scene Converter - This tool converts all scene materials and raytraced shadows to versions optimized for V-Ray.
